A great article recently published by the Wisconsin Parkinson Association concern the need for primary caregivers to have a break while ensuring that their loved ones are still receiving a high level of care and compassion at an adult day center. COVID-19 Update from the Owner of Just Like Home Adult Day Center

I realize that you all are being inundated with news about the Coronavirus (COVID-19), and recognize that this can be overwhelming. I did, however, want to take a minute to let you know that we are still open and providing service to our clients. We are an “essential” service, as we know that many individuals are dependent upon us for their daily assistance, and supervision and safety. For this, I MUST recognize and THANK our tremendous staff! In order to continue to provide quality care, we have had to increase some of the precautionary measures (sanitizing, PPE, health screenings, employee training, etc…) in our daily operations and procedures, as the safety of our staff, and the clients we serve (in your home – ComForCare Home Care, in our facility – Just Like Home Adult Day Center) is our number 1 priority! As we enter this new and unprecedented phase of the pandemic,  we are inundated with guidelines about how to keep ourselves and our families healthy and virus-free. Yet a key item on the list—social distancing—poses unprecedented challenges to our mental and emotional well being, and requires consideration. Here are 4 tips to maintain your mental health while social distancing: 1. Social distancing does not mean emotional distancing;  use technology to connect widely. There are so many tech tools to help make social distancing easier. Zoom, Skype, or Facetime allow you to video chat with family and friends, almost having the same in-person interaction feelings! 2.
